Doesn't it seem like dogs go from Puppies to Old Dogs slowing down in a blink of an eye? Time truly flies when you have such a wonderful companion.
While our Dogs have a shorter lifespan than we do, there are things we can do to help them live longer, healthier lives. Here are 5 tips to help them do just that. 1. Regular Physical Exercise- A great place to start is by teaching them the basics; sit, stay, down, shake, heel. These exercises can be used to strengthen the front and back legs as well as provide mental stimulation. Walking is another good form of exercise as it is low impact on the joints. It is important to start gradually. If your dog is out of shape start with 5 minutes and work up to longer walks. 2. Mental Exercise- While out for walks, don’t be afraid to switch up your path regularly this can improve your dog’s mental stimulation. Also, try buying toys like a snuffle mat. It has them Initiate sniffing and foraging centers of the brain, which are enjoyable for your dog. 3. Regular Veterinary Care- Vet visits are important for all dogs at least once a year, but once your dog starts slowing down, its not a bad idea to go twice annually. Your veterinarian should perform a physical exam as well as perform routine blood work examinations to ensure everything is continuing to function well as your pet ages. This way they can catch anything early on and get your pup the help he needs. 4. Healthy Diet- Some have likened feeding low end dry dog food to eating fast food for every meal. Most people would agree that highly processed foods are not as healthy as lightly processed foods. It is important to look at the ingredients in your dog’s food. When you look at the ingredients in your pet’s food you should be able to easily identify whole foods and supplements. Look for a food that contains high-quality proteins, such as whole, fresh, or single source meat meal (ie “chicken-meal” not “poultry meal or worse just “meat”) and whole, unprocessed grains and vegetables. 5. Socialization with their peers- Socializing your dog through activities like visiting the dog park, or doggie daycare, helps to ease anxiety which helps their overall health. By socializing your dog their confidence is sure to grow and can even help to teach them new good habits.

I totally agree, when humans need physical exercise, mental exercise, regular checkup, healthy diet, being social then dogs also need all these to live a healthy and long life. I should always recommend Ayurvedic Veterinary Feed Supplements to the pet owners for the healthy life.

Although you said that all dogs should see the vet at least once a year, it's not a terrible idea to go twice as soon as your dog begins to slow down. My mother laments how frail her dog appears. I'll advise her to take the dog to the vet.

It got me when you talked about how important it is to visit the veterinarian clinic for our dog at least once a year, and we can also visit them twice a year if they start to become slower. I will keep that in mind when I finally have my own dog, since I plan to get a dachshund next year. And I will make sure that I will do my research before choosing a clinic to go to to have the assurance that they are providing all the necessary vaccinations and check ups that my pet would need.
