What Makes Oklahoma Canine Therapy & Wellness Unique?

Movement is Medicine
At Oklahoma K9 PT, we are movement specialists. We assess the dog’s overall mobility and all factors that may affect this. Not only can weakness and neurologic changes cause difficulty with mobility, but also environmental factors, obesity, and traction issues. We help tailor a plan for each dog's individual needs to help you help your canine patients improve mobility and quality of life into their geriatric years.
Our Approach to Improving Mobility
We are proud to provide a unique and effective approach to canine therapy for dogs with various injuries and conditions. Our approach differs from what you have traditionally think of a therapy. While most canine rehabilitation therapy facilities emphasize the use of various modalities of treatment, at Oklahoma K9 PT we emphasize the importance of hands-on massage and stretching , coupled with strength-based exercises, to achieve the best possible results for our patients. Sessions are centered around empowering pet parents by providing education for lifelong results, so they can incorporate canine therapy into their dog’s daily routine. Our goal is to empower and educate pet parents to perform the treatment on their own as it’s a long-term plan.

Dr. Courtney White, DPT, CCMFT, CCRT

I am a Certified Canine Canine Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapist, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Motivator and Leader. In 2018, I discovered I could combine my passion for helping others solve mobility issues and navigate aging with my love for dogs. I was introduced to canine therapy and wellness and knew I had found my dream job. I earned my certification in canine myo-manipulative functional therapy in summer of 2019.  To further my knowledge I pursued my certification as a canine rehabilitation therapist.  I completed my training in December of 2020 from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. I absolutely love being able to help dogs regain mobility and ease pain though conservative management options allowing them to have more quality time with their best friends.
My vision for the world is to have a different conversation when it comes to aging and end of life choices for canines. Senior dogs deserve as much love, dignity, and respect as any other stage of their life. I want pet parents to approach aging and end of life with knowledge, empowerment, and hope. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help senior dogs live their best life. I am so appreciative of your support and look forward to serving and working with you in the future!
