Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) is a disease affecting the spinal cord, resulting in slowly progressive hind limb weakness and paralysis. The symptoms result from degeneration of the white matter of the spinal cord. Have you ever heard of this disease? It is similar to some forms of the human Lou Gehrig’s Disease; also known as ALS.
