ARTHRITIS is the #1 Reason why Dogs slows down as they age.  Just like humans, dogs struggle with arthritis and the pain that goes along with it. Studies suggest 1 in 5 dogs suffer from arthritis and is one of the biggest contributors to chronic pain.

Arthritis is a slow natural degeneration of the joint surfaces; this can cause pain when your dog moves round. It can be accelerated by many factors like:
  •   being overweight
  •   old injuries
  •   other orthopedic conditions
Given that arthritis is deemed incurable, many people think there is not much that can be done for arthritis. But good news, that’s not true!

There many ways to help ease arthritis pain and research suggests that more than just NSAIDs are needed to effectively fight arthritis long term. A combination of:
  •   pain management
  •   activity modification
  •   nutrition
  •   rehabilitation techniques
are showing promising results as well. These things are helping keep dogs moving and lessening pain.

Every dog is different and will require an individualized combination of treatments which is why it is helpful to talk to your vet and a canine rehab therapist.

Do you have any specific questions about how Arthritis might be affecting your dog?
We'd love to help!
