Im sure you have a shadow (you dog) sitting right there watching you as you take every bite.
So what treats can we safely offer up to our dogs? Frozen Blueberries- with it being Blueberry season, these are easy to get your hands on. Your dog will thank you and so will your local farmers. It is recommended to keep it to 1 blueberry for every 2 lbs of body weight per day. Frozen Strawberries with Greek Yogurt- Dip some strawberries in greek yogurt and freeze them for a sweet treat. 1 Strawberry is enough for small dogs. Up to 4-5 for large dogs. Frozen Kong- Your dogs favorite toy just might be a Kong. Place some peanut butter in the opening and freeze it. A few hours later your pup can enjoy! Chicken Stock Freeze Pops- Make your dog their own freeze pop! Usually the Target dollar section will have some cheap Popsicle molds you can purchase to make these. Take 1 salt-reduced chicken stock cube, water (make sure its dissolved completely) and some parsley. Mix it up and freeze. Tada! Can I offer my dog some ice cream? Its best to keep your ice cream just for you. Because ice cream is dairy based it can be difficult for them to digest. It can lead to bloating, vomiting or gas. Even if the ice cream contains no sugar, it may be substituted with sweeteners such as Xylitol which is toxic to dogs. With that in mind, try some easy refreshing snacks for them! What are some things you treat your dog to?
