November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month... so why not talk about all the reasons you should adopt one of our senior pals!

Puppies and younger dogs may be super cute but senior dogs bring a lot to the table you may not realize.
  1. No Potty Training Needed- Most senior dogs have been potty trained for years. No middle of the day accidents and having to wake up in the middle of the night to take them outside "just in case".
  2. Senior dogs already have their personalities in place. There is no beating around the bush, they know what they want and how they want to act and its nice to have that peace of mind.
  3. They help you slow down. We live in such a busy world is hard to stop sometimes. That is what a good senior dog is for. They remind you the importance of just sitting, enjoying the day... and making sure to pet them.
  4. Less furniture ruined. Senior dogs aren't teething nor are they looking for ways to burn energy. Your couch and shoes are a lot safer with a senior dog.
  5. You literally save a life. And they can save you too.

There are some wonderful organizations like Oklahoma German Shepherd Rescue and Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue who have some loving seniors waiting to be adopted. Check out their pages on Facebook!

I think it’s wonderful that people consider adopting senior pets.
